Photo Impressions of La Ventana, Baja California Sur

I traversed the almost 1,500-kilometer-long Mexican state of Baja California -

one of the most wonderful road trips I ever made!  Along this route, you will find

amazing beaches, canyons, and cactus forests.

I discovered lovely, inexpensive hotels (all with enclosed parking garages) on my route

through Baja California.

And I always felt very safe when traveling alone.

Tango Azul Resort

9 apartments - one or two bedrooms - fully furnished, with your own patio or balcony,

beautiful sea views, and the morning sunrise.  6 - 8 minutes to the beaches.

And now Tango Azul even has its own Pickleball courts!

Swimmers, surfers, stand-up paddle-boarders, sailors, scuba divers, snorkelers,

sea-kayakers, whale-watchers, kite-surfers, water skiers, and anglers

are enjoying the waters around Baja California Sur.

Kite-surf schools teach newbies to this sport and rent out the equipment.

Explore hot springs, grottos, a lighthouse, cacti forests,

and the wonderful endless beaches to swim, snorkel,

whale watching, fishing, kayaking, going hiking or

mountain biking in the hills and mountains.

Kite-Surfing Capital:

La Ventana is one of the ten best places in the world for kite surfers and other water sports.

It is a laidback beachside community where the water is warm, the wind is smooth,

and the sunrise takes your breath away.

Perfect Internet connection at Tango Azul, a large, cool palapa to cook, eat, and meet people,

BBQs, pool, lovely garden with flowers and native plants

I spend several months this winter - for the third time - in La Ventana, Baja California Sur,

at the Tango Azul Resort,  exploring this Southern Part of the peninsula on day trips:

Visiting the old gold and silver mining town of El Triunfo with its four museums of

ranching, mining, minerals, and history.

And enjoying fantastic restaurants, bars, and bakeries.

Laid back in every sense of the word:

Cows are walking slowly on the village streets,

and people take time to chat or sit for hours in cafes and restaurants

- if they are not riding the waves on the beach.

Nine studio apartments - with one or two bedrooms - fully furnished,

with your own patio or balcony,  and beautiful sea views

Not even one hour away, is La Paz, a city with an attractive Malecon,

a large harbor, and an attractive Old City part, museums,

and numerous fine seafood restaurants invite visitors.

The new Pickleball courts, overlooking the sea, just opened - after a one-year building period - by Marcela and David, the owners of the Tango Azul Resort. The courts are not only open for resort guests but also for everyone in La Ventanaa.
